 Throughout the 1980s, ICNA undertook significant expansion projects. ICNA Sisters was formed in 1980, and the main headquarters was established in Jamaica, Queens in 1984. It led to the annual convention celebrated its 10th year in 1985, becoming a prominent event. Furthermore, with a strong foundation, ICNA launched various projects that continue to thrive today.

Projects like ICNA Relief, 877-Why Islam, Young Muslims, and the Message International were established to cater to the needs of the American Muslim community. Annual regional conferences and Neighbor Nets provided opportunities for local chapters to gather regularly. In 1993, ICNA’s Charter and By-Laws were approved, marking a milestone in its history.

 In the past decade, ICNA has expanded its reach across the United States while maintaining an active presence in local communities. Muslim Family Day, initially hosted at Six Flags New Jersey in 2000, has grown to attract nearly 50,000 attendees annually at various parks nationwide.

In 2009, the ICNA Council for Social Justice was formed to represent the Muslim voice on social justice matters. Therefore, ICNA has worked diligently to establish connections between Islam and the public, collaborating with numerous Muslim organizations and interfaith groups to create a positive impact in society.
