The Archdiocese of Chicago is leasing St. Bartholomew’s empty school and convent to the City of Chicago at no cost, with the City subleasing the property to the Zakat Foundation of America. Cook County is constructing shower facilities and doing other basic renovations to accommodate the estimated 300 people who will utilize the shelter.
