HHRD Debunks Common Winter Relief Program Misconceptions as Winter Preparations Begin
HHRD clears up common misconceptions about its Winter Relief program, which provides more than blankets to refugees, orphans and vulnerable families in more than 20 countries.

As temperatures drop, Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) is preparing its annual Winter Relief program and addressing a common misconception: that winter aid means blankets alone. Winter Relief Program serves communities in more than 20 countries.

More Than Blankets: What HHRD Winter Relief Packages Include
According to HHRD, packages are designed to protect families through the full season and include blankets, comforters and warm clothing, as well as bedding, heaters, fuel and non-perishable food. The program adapts to regional conditions and is coordinated with field teams and partner organizations.
Where Winter Relief Program Operates
HHRD’s Winter Relief operations span South Asia, the Middle East, Africa and parts of Europe. Locations include Gaza, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria and Lebanon, as well as Rohingya refugee communities. Reports indicate reaching more than 75,000 people in 19 countries in a recent winter campaign.

HHRD Winter Relief Prioritizes Refugees and Orphans
Winter Relief reaches refugees, displaced families, and other vulnerable communities, with special attention to children and the elderly. The program directs winter aid to Syrian, Palestinian, Yemeni, and Rohingya communities, among others. In Jordan and Lebanon, past HHRD winter programs have served Syrian and Palestinian refugees. HHRD says the program also operates in parts of Africa and Europe; orphans are among the priority recipients of its winter provisions.

Addressing Common Winter Relief Program Misconceptions
HHRD recently addressed common misconceptions about its winter program in its social media posts.
Winter assistance is not limited to blankets. Its work goes beyond seasonal survival, including restoring homes and strengthening food security, so winter aid complements longer-term support.
